Festive photoshoot at Poltarrow

We still have one cottage available for Christmas and four free for New Year so this week Libby and Kate staged the cottages ready for our photographer to take some promotional photos.  Kate has always been rather keen on Christmas so readily lent some of her extensive festive collection - she has since decided to permanently lend them as the cottages looked so good!  We ended up with lots of great photos, here are a selection of our favourite .......

So if you know anyone that would like to spend Christmas or New Year in Cornwall send them our way!

21 - 28 December: Red Deer (sleeps 4 plus cot)

From 28 December: Deer Park (sleeps 2), Fallow (sleeps 4 plus cot), Stag (sleeps 6 plus cot), Roebuck (sleeps 6 plus cot)

Around the farm - First frost of the year

This morning we had our first frost; I was up early as some guests needed breakfast first thing as they were travelling to Heathrow to catch a flight - we had to defrost their windscreen before they could depart!  It was about 9.30am when I could get outside to take some photos - the frost had gone but the thaw remained and made for some pretty Autumnal shots ....

The front drive - the horse chestnuts continue to shed their crisp, rust coloured leaves

Peter's duck pond with its new fencing surrounding it.
A hole in the old fencing meant Peter's ducks had 'disappeared' - we suspect a stoat.

The fishing lake

Trying out the 'macro' setting on the camera.

Another shot of the horse chestnuts.

A shot of the front field looking towards Polgooth.
