Days Out - Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant

During the winter months the big name restaurants here in Cornwall vie for the trade of locals and out of season guests meaning that we get the benefit of outstanding cuisine at more affordable prices.  This weekend Libby, Kate and their husbands took advantage of Rick Stein's 'Save the Children' set menu at The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.

They enjoyed a glass of bubbly in the conservatory while they perused the menus; it was a dull day outside but the restaurant has a fresh, modern interior with wall upon wall of artwork.

Unfortunately the starters were so delicious looking that they forgot to take photos but for the main dishes they enjoyed hake with puy lentils and cod with spring onion mash - scrummy!

Pudding brought with it further highlights, orange tart and sorbet and chocolate delice with a salted caramel sauce.

Say 'Cheese'!

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and the waiting staff are very good.
Rick's dog Chalky stands on watch outside - gone but not forgotten.
The 'Save the Children' menu ends on Friday but from the 25th February – 22nd March 2013 they are offering a 3 course set lunch for £29.95.

Over at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay the kitchens and interiors have just been renovated and they have reopened offering a 3 course set menu for £28

Here at Poltarrow short breaks are available in the cottages up until Easter so why not take advantage of great deals all 'round.
